These trips are community-based recreational outings organized by a member of our church community and are not operated as a commercial guided fishing business. The goal is simply to share the experience, create meaningful time together, and enjoy the opportunity to fish Buoy 10 as a community.
Yes. While our August guided fishing trips are free of charge, a $50 per person refundable deposit is required after your requested dates are approved. This helps us reserve your confirmed date, ensure commitment and reduce last-minute cancellations.
Your deposit will be fully refunded if you complete your scheduled fishing trip or if you cancel at least 7 days prior to your trip date. Deposits are forfeited for cancellations within 7 days of the trip or for no-shows.
After you submit the request form:
1. We'll review your requested dates
2. We'll get back to you as soon as possible
3. If dates are available, you'll receive a deposit link to secure your spot

All guided trips run during the month of August for the Buoy 10 season in Astoria, Oregon. Keep this in mind when filling out a trip request form.
Fishing days begin early. Guests should plan to arrive at the boat dock approximately 30 minutes before sunrise. Your guide will contact you the day before your trip with your exact meeting time and final details.
Trips typically last 6–8 hours, depending on conditions and how the day unfolds.
If you are traveling from out of town, you may want to consider arriving the day before your trip, as fishing days begin early. The area can also be very busy during the season, so it’s a good idea to plan lodging ahead of time.
Please plan to arrive on time, as departures are scheduled around optimal fishing conditions and to respect the time of other guests joining the trip.
Each trip accommodates a maximum of 6 guests.
If your group does not fill the entire trip, it may be shared with other guests. Groups are matched carefully to ensure a positive experience for everyone.
All fishing gear, bait, and tackle are provided.
Guests should bring:
Valid fishing licenses
Warm, waterproof clothing
Packed lunch/snacks
Drinks/water
Sunscreen
Motion sickness medication if needed
This is meant to be an immersive experience, and guests are encouraged to participate in fish cleaning, packaging, and general cleanup after fishing. That said, we understand not everyone is comfortable with every step, and participation is flexible.
Fish will be cleaned and packaged before departure.
Guests must be 8 years of age or older to participate.
No fishing experience is required—these trips are beginner-friendly. Guests should be comfortable on the water and be aware that motion sickness is possible for some individuals.
Safety is a priority. If weather or water conditions are not safe, we may reschedule.
We will communicate clearly if changes are necessary.

Cancellation Policy
We understand plans can change. Our cancellation policy is designed to be fair while protecting trip availability.
Deposit Refunds
Your per person deposit will be fully refunded if:
You complete your scheduled fishing trip, or
You cancel at least 7 days prior to your scheduled trip date
Deposit Forfeiture
Your deposit will be forfeited if:
You cancel within 7 days of your scheduled trip date, or
You do not show up for your scheduled trip
Late Cancellations (Within 7 Days)
If a trip canceled within the 7-day window is successfully rebooked within a short period of time, the deposit may be refunded at our discretion. We always do our best to be fair whenever possible.
If you think you may need to cancel, please let us know as soon as possible. Earlier notice greatly improves the chance of rebooking the trip.
